ANTI-SYPHON VALVE
Code:
ANTI-SYPHON VALVE
APPLICATION
- This anti-syphon valve is designed to prevent product syphoning in an aboveground storage tank and to stop the fuel leaking in case of a break in the pipework, thus preventing environmental pollution and
- fire hazards.
- The valve is only intended for installation on top of aboveground tanks. The springs are used for hydrostatic
- heads: 1-5’, 6-10’, 11-15’ or 16-20’ (1,5, 3, 4,5, 6 meters)
INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENT
- the valve is installed at the highest point of the tank, normally on the manhole cover.
- First be aware that the system is drained.
- Determine the height of the system and the correct spring to use (see Color Spring Instructions below).
- Once the correct spring is selected place it over poppet shaft.
- Apply sealant to the threads including the covering plug.
- While screwing the plug be careful to put brass poppet guide over poppet shaft while tightening down.
- Tighten with pipe wrench after making sure that an airtight seal has been reached.
